Community Reinvestment Act Overview / Investment Connection Orientation

This webinar will provide an overview of community development activities that are eligible for credit under the Community Reinvestment Act. It is intended to benefit community-based organizations and social entrepreneurs seeking to apply to Investment Connection in March 2021 and in future months. Prospective applicants will learn how to apply the provisions of the CRA to their proposals and best practices for maximizing the opportunity to receive investment from financial institutions.

Investment Connection leverages the Richmond Fed’s convening power to provide community development organizations an opportunity to present Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) proposals to bankers, CDFIs, foundations and other funding entities for potential financial support. Organizations can submit community and economic development projects in an online Request for Proposal application process. Projects deemed potentially eligible under the CRA are those that specifically support small businesses or that serve, or are located, in distressed or underserved communities. The program is a win-win for both applicants and funders in that it allows these entities to establish relationships and develop innovative collaborations through which they can meet pressing community needs.

The 2021 application cycle for Maryland and Greater Washington, D.C., projects will run from March 15 - April 2, with selections being made by mid-April. Maryland and Greater Washington, D.C.  proposal presentations will take place in early May.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing details about to join this virtual meeting.
