Richmond Fed Announces Officer Appointments

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond announces the following appointments:

Phil Watts has been appointed an assistant vice president in Supervision, Regulation and Credit, with with responsibility for technology risk supervision.

Watts worked previously for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in supervision of large and foreign banks. Prior to joining the Board of Governors, he held supervision leadership roles at the Richmond Fed and also worked for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

Watts earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Madhavi Chinta has been named vice president of solution architecture for Federal Reserve Financial Services, with responsibility for oversight, strategy and management of end-to-end architecture of FRFS products and systems. 

Chinta joined the Richmond Fed in 2010 and most recently was an assistant vice president in the Fifth District and Cash Product Office. Prior to joining the Fed, she served in IT architecture roles for Owens & Minor and LexisNexis. 

Chinta earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Sri Venkateswara University in India.

Christin Patel has been appointed vice president in the Enterprise Resource Planning Support Office, which coordinates finance, human resources and procurement technology support for the Federal Reserve System. 

Patel joined the Richmond Fed in 2008 as a strategic management consultant and worked at the Board of Governors as a supervisory financial analyst. Prior to her current role, she was an assistant vice president with procurement responsibilities and previously served as corporate secretary and special assistant to the first vice president. 

Patel earned a bachelor’s degree in international business from Notre Dame College of Ohio and a master’s degree in international commerce and policy from George Mason University.

Jessica Romero has been appointed as assistant vice president in the Research department with responsibility for communications, including publications and economic education.

Romero joined the Richmond Fed in 2010 as a managing editor for Research publications and also has worked as an economics writer and speechwriter. She previously managed publications for the U.S. Green Building Council. 

Romero earned a bachelor’s degree in English and French literature from Binghamton University and an MBA from Auburn University.
