District of Columbia
Employment in D.C. fell by 1,200 jobs (0.2 percent) in April. The unemployment rate increased 0.2 percentage point to 5.0 percent.
Maryland
Employment in Maryland increased by 8,000 jobs (0.3 percent) in April. The unemployment rate fell 0.2 percentage point to 2.5 percent.
North Carolina
North Carolina employment increased by 3,600 jobs (0.1 percent) in April. The unemployment rate fell 0.1 percentage point to 3.4 percent.
South Carolina
South Carolina gained 7,100 jobs (0.3 percent) in April. The unemployment rate edged down 0.1 percentage point to 3.1 percent.
Virginia
Employment in Virginia was little changed in April, up 1,400 jobs (0.0 percent). The unemployment rate came in 0.1 percentage point lower at 3.1 percent.
West Virginia
West Virginia employment decreased by 500 jobs (0.1 percent) in April. The unemployment rate fell 0.1 percentage point to 3.3 percent.
