Katrina Mullen

Katrina Mullen is a managing editor for the Research Department’s publications team. She manages the Working Paper series and the Macro Minute blog, and also fact-checks and copy edits Econ Focus magazine, Regional Matters and President Barkin’s essays and speeches. Mullen regularly contributes to the Upfront section of Econ Focus and assists with social media.

Before joining the Richmond Fed in 2020, Mullen was a marketing and communications specialist at an engineering firm, where she copy edited and assisted in designing  proposals, handouts and articles. She also managed communication initiatives and social media for the firm’s Mid-Atlantic region. Previously, she served as a reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Mullen holds a bachelor’s degree in multimedia journalism and political science from Virginia Tech and a public administration certificate from the University of Virginia.
