Charlie Shields serves as a senior surveillance analyst with the Risk and Surveillance team in the Supervision, Regulation and Credit department. Shields’ primary job responsibilities include Identifying, analyzing and reporting financial, operational and environmental risks and trends in the Richmond Fed supervisory banking portfolio.

Before joining the Richmond Fed as a budget analyst and cost accounting manager in 2005, Shields worked as a financial analyst in the banking industry.

Shields is a certified public accountant with a post-baccalaureate certificate in accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University. He also holds an MBA from American University and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Virginia.
