Nathan Sumner is a survey analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. He primarily works with strategy related to recruitment and retainment for regional and national surveys that the Richmond Fed leads and participates in, including the regional business surveys, CFO Survey, Survey of Community College Outcomes, CDFI Survey, Small Business Credit Survey and Community Conditions Survey. In addition, he assists with survey design, methodology and administration, data visualization, and result analysis and interpretation.

Sumner joined the Richmond Fed in 2023 as a Discover Analyst in Corporate Accounting. Previously, he was a survey center intern at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Sumner earned his bachelor’s degrees in economics and finance from Georgia Southern University.
